Proteus Consultancy Limited, with its network of offices throughout the UK, has developed a unique approach to delivering creative, cost effective solutions to career planning, outplacement and personal development requirements.   All of our consultants have held senior posts in the UK or overseas, and have wide experience in managing outplacement programmes.

We recognise that no two clients are the same, and offer complete flexibility through the wide range of options and expertise available. With over ten years’ experience, we can meet every need.  Whilst it is helpful if we are brought in at an early stage, we appreciate the speed at which things change, and can react quickly and effectively to meet any crisis. We prefer to work in partnership with our corporate clients, but can also manage redundancy and outplacement on your behalf, and at any stage in the process.  We offer a safe, reliable and professional pair of hands, and fully appreciate the tight financial constraints that typify today’s climate.

Outplacement support

Support for senior management and middle management is generally provided on an individual basis, whilst junior level staff may be offered support in groups. Where appropriate it may be beneficial and cost effective for both middle management and junior level employees to take advantage of a combination of group and individual support. Executive and Individual programmes can be provided in our consulting centres or at other agreed locations. Clients generally prefer our centres, in view of the resources (both on and off-line) available, and the privacy provided

Executive Programmes

Programmes are always designed around specific needs following considerable consultation and will encompass individual unlimited personal coaching, strategic networking and a variety of research and support services to help with a move to another senior position, self employment, a portfolio career or retirement.

Individual Programmes

Individual programmes can be provided in our consulting centres or at other agreed locations.  Clients generally prefer our centres, in view of the resources (both on and off-line) available, and the privacy provided.   Programmes are always designed around specific needs, following considerable discussion and objective setting to take into account needs, capability and aspirations.   Such programmes may contain:

  •      direction planning, often incorporating psychometric testing and highly structured feedback
  •      emotional counselling and support
  •      CV development, producing a range of CV’s, if necessary
  •      interview training, using CCTV techniques
  •      development of a personal marketing strategy, with a particular emphasis on the unadvertised market place
  •      management of marketing implementation, either for an agreed term or until a post is obtained at the right level, salary and location.
  •      access to our broad range of contacts and research capability
  •      access to corporate databases and the Proteus jobs database, which takes on some 1 million advertised and unadvertised vacancies per year

Group Programmes

Group workshops typically will accommodate up to 10 participants and last for one or two days, depending on the content.   They are geared to cover such issues as:

  •          CV preparation to reflect achievements and selling points
  •          covering letters
  •          responding to adverts
  •          speculative letters to companies and recruitment consultants
  •          application forms
  •          interview techniques, approaches and styles, including psychometric testing
  •          research; using the web intelligently
  •          accessing the unadvertised markets, sources of information and the maintenance of information database
  •          self-employment
  •          enjoying retirement

Linked group and individual support

Participants in group programmes can also be offered a range of individual support and services to include:

  •          personal advice and guidance
  •          counselling
  •          an 0800 help line
  •          access to job, company and recruitment consultancy databases
  •          access to our own network of contacts
  •          the provision of personalised database
